National Programs

The Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce: Serves to seek ways to provide awareness and education regarding diversity and inclusion issues. Comprised of one Diversity and Inclusion Representative from each active Colony and Chapter.

The Risk Management Taskforce: Serves to seek ways to provide awareness and education regarding risk management and mental health issues. Comprised of one Risk Management Representative from each active Colony and Chapter.

The National Executive Board Experience: Serves alumnae that wish to gain experience and training to one day be a member of the National Executive Board. Gives interested alumnae the opportunities to shadow positions and gain knowledge about Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc. on a national level. There shall be no maximum number of applicants for the program.

The National Internship Program: Offered to undergraduate students for the term of one semester. The internships will be offered in various fields, including, but not limited to, medicine, nursing, law, engineering, finance, accounting, insurance, marketing and communications, philanthropic involvement, leadership development, risk management, mental health, and diversity and inclusion. The program will allow for a valuable learning experience for growth and attaining transferable skills within Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc., as well as for future careers.

The National Event Assistance Program (NEAP): If a Colony or Chapter needs funding assistance to host a large-scale event, the respective Colony or Chapter may apply for funding assistance from the National Executive Board.

The National Financial Assistance Program (NFAP): If a Colony or Chapter needs funding assistance to sustain its viability, the respective Colony or Chapter may apply for funding assistance from the National Executive Board.

The National Book Club: Serves as a way for Sisters to share their love of books or articles while broadening their knowledge in different fields and topics. This encourages Sisters to read more and to explore topics they may not seek otherwise. The National Book Club will connect passionate readers with different backgrounds and creates a forum to have respectful, meaningful, and thought-provoking discussions of interest.

The National Sync Initiative: Serves as a way to bridge the gap between Sisters nationwide via assigning Sisters to Sync buddies monthly so that the buddies communicate with each other consistently throughout that month in order to build stronger interstate relationships.

The National Winter Gift Exchange: Sisters draw random names to become someone’s Secret Snowflake. The Secret Snowflake is given a wish list of gift ideas to choose from to give to their chosen giftee.

Be the Change Day: Be the Change is an annual national day of service coordinated to inspire and foster civic engagement and stronger communities through volunteerism and community service. Every year thousands of participants across the country collectively contribute numerous hours of community service in the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi’s challenge to “be the change you wish to see in the world.” Active Colonies and Chapters volunteer on the annual national day of service alongside other organizations at their respective establishments.

The Sigma for Society Week: Active Colonies and Chapters host a weeklong dedication of events and fundraising solely for the national philanthropy. The active establishments must host at least one event for five consecutive days. Each active establishment must host Sigma for Society in the month of October, the philanthropy month for domestic violence awareness, and may host Sigma for Society in the spring and/or summer semesters as well.
